I’ve always had a love of animals, even though I initially worked as an apprentice hairdresser when I left school! I eventually became an animal caretaker at a hospital, while also volunteering at the RSPCA on weekends to develop my skills. I was able to clean, handle, feed and water patients in a hospital environment.

Since then, I have held various roles in customer service, client relations, and veterinary nursing, which eventually led me to my current position in the VetPartners Learning and Development team.

In my role, I focus on designing and delivering capability pathways and programs for our support teams, including nurses, receptionists, and kennel teams, to facilitate active development within the industry. I also work closely with stakeholders to ensure our programs are endorsed and brought to life within our community.

My interest in Learning and Development first sparked as a trainee nurse. I loved learning and encouraging others to do the same, and was lucky enough to work in environments where the growth culture was strong. It never ceases to surprise me how much knowledge animal professionals absorb throughout their careers and how close-knit the community really is.

I’m fascinated by organisational behaviour and I’m working towards further study in learning design and psychology, to support my passion in this space.
