Figtree Receptionist Job Advert

Figtree Veterinary Clinic is looking for a dedicated part time Receptionist to join our wonderful and supportive team. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a client forward position, loves working with animals, and is committed to providing exceptional service.

About you:

  • Highly skilled in customer service with effective time-management skills and attention to detail.
  • Passionate about providing gold standard customer service to our clients.
  • Empathy and compassion towards both clients and their pets.
  • Ability to work efficiently both as part of a team and independently.
  • Understand Word/Excel/Outlook and PIMS RxWorks experience is beneficial.
  • Excellent phone manner.
  • Experience or exposure in the veterinary industry is desirable but not essential if you have transferrable skills- training will be provided.
  • Prior receptionist-related and administrative experience is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client communication: answering phone calls, email inquiries, website submissions, etc.
  • Scheduling consultations and surgical bookings, as well as organising the relevant documentation.
  • Welcoming in clients for their appointments & coordinating patient admissions to hospital.
  • Effective communication with Veterinarians and Veterinary Nursing staff to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Assisting with stock management.
  • Providing clients with parasiticide & dietary product advice.
  • Basic phone triage (as per veterinary staff advice & training).
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the reception area.
  • General administrative tasks.

Clinic Opening Hours

Monday-Friday 8am-6pm.

Closed Saturday & Sunday and Public Holidays- all emergencies referred to local emergency centres.
