We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, fun and motivated Veterinary Nurse to join our wonderful team!
We are looking for a nurse to cover part time hours (typically 36 hours a week), with the possibility of full-time hours!
We are a highly regarded, busy, small animal veterinary practice in East Melbourne. We have 4 Vets and 8 Veterinary Nurses, a Practice manager & a groomer that make up our team.
Our clinic is well equipped with all the toys needed to work up cases to high clinical standards, including digital X-ray, dental X-ray, dedicated surgical suite, IM3 dental base, capnography/Bionet monitoring machine, Ultrasound and endoscopy.
We use Rx Works as our PMS.

Your responsibilities:
- Reception duties including handling client queries, scheduling appointments, managing client accounts and providing an overall exceptional customer experience to our loyal and long standing clientele.
- Animal handling and general nursing duties for the hospitalised patient
- Maintaining excellent hygiene of the practice, including surgical areas and equipment.
- Undertaking general nursing tasks such as anaesthetic monitoring, patient admission and discharge, IV catheter placement and blood collection.
- Assisting our Veterinarians with a range of different surgeries and procedures
- Sharing a range of different shifts including 1 in 4 weekends.
Essential criteria include:
- Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing with 1-2 years vet nursing experience
- Someone whom is passionate about patient & customer care.
- Excellent animal handling skills
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of veterinary nursing procedures.
- Exceptional organisation, communication and customer service skills.
- Flexible and adaptable within a team environment.
- Knowledge of Rx Works ideal but not essential.
