Figtree Veterinary Clinic seeks a full-time Veterinary Nurse to join our small team of diverse, passionate & supportive people. Located in Lane Cove on the Lower North Shore, we maintain a loyal and returning client base, many of which are insured, enabling us to offer and provide gold-standard care and refer cases to our surrounding specialist hospitals with whom we have close relationships. Nursing duties include but are not limited to:

Personable and professional customer service.

Surgical patient prepping, monitoring, and recovery

General anaesthesia (in-depth training will be provided).
-
Assistance with internal ultrasonography and external ultrasound specialist service.
-
Performing triage service, standard nurse consultations, and animal restraint.
-
Intravenous catheter placement and blood sample collection.
-
Radiography, Dental radiography and advanced dental nursing (training provided and radiography license for Cert IV nurses paid for if required)

Inpatient care of hospital day patients

In-house pathology- use of Sedivue machine, multiple Idexx laboratory machines, etc

Veterinary consultation assistance i.e., restraining for ultrasound, ear cleaning, pathology sampling, venipuncture etc.

Limited reception duties as required.

Our ideal candidate:
-
Holds a Veterinary Nurse Cert IV qualification – however, experienced uncertified candidates are encouraged to apply and will be considered.

Has a minimum of 2 years of veterinary nursing experience.

Organised, efficient and able to multi-task within a veterinary environment.

Has the ability to work within the team and independently where required.

Enjoys a challenge and a varied caseload.

Takes pride in upholding the highest standard of patient care

Computer literate (Rx works experience is advantageous).
