The Opportunity We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager for the Victorian region to join the ANZ United Vet Group Team on a 12 month fixed term maternity leave cover. This position requires a passionate individual with a demonstrated ability to achieve results in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The role of Business Development Manager will include:
- Being the interface between our business and the veterinary clinics – building long-lasting and fruitful business relationships with veterinarians as well as amazing practice staff
- Driving sales through business development and being customer-facing
- Using sales techniques to increase company presence and stimulate sales in an assigned area
- Ensure continuous management of your customer base managing existing and new member acquisitions
- Define priorities for each member and collate tailored plans to meet their needs- such as training, product ranging, maximising rebates
- Connecting with new clinics to secure new memberships or establish leads
- Collaborate with peers to share best in practice and learnings, liaise with marketing to drive customer-related initiatives
- Participate in industry or promotional events (trade shows) to cultivate customer relationships
Skills & Qualifications
- More than two years of commercial experience in veterinary sales, pet food sales, human pharmaceuticals or pharmacy channel sales
- A track record in identifying, converting, and deploying sales opportunities
- Experience in building strong, mutually beneficial supplier relationships
- Experience in building strong business relationships and working collaboratively with a diverse set of stakeholders.
- Experience in a multi-site operations environment (e.g. franchise business model)
- Highly accountable for areas of responsibility, performance objectives and quality of deliverables.
- Self-reliant, proactive, anticipates and takes initiative to deliver results and meet customer expectations.
- High level of commercial acumen & strategic thinking.
Experience
- More than two years commercial experience in veterinary sales, pet food sales, human pharmaceuticals or pharmacy channel sales
- Demonstrable record of success in delivering key commercial KPIs
- Strong leadership and team working skills –
- Strong negotiation, planning and presentation skills.
- A current driving license.
- This is a field-based position; you will need to be able to travel throughout Victoria to visit clinics
