Vets Abroad Program

Our Vets Abroad Program was designed to assist us in building a gap year working holiday itinerary that suits you. We will work with you to develop a working holiday that suits your level of experience. When you arrive, we will meet you at the airport and give you a comprehensive induction of your local area, including meeting your new work colleagues and showing you the ‘sights and sounds’. Once you start work, we will meet regularly with you and your Clinic Manager and are always available both inside and outside of normal working hours.

To be considered for our Vets Abroad Program you will hold a veterinary degree, registerable within Australia and New Zealand without further examination. Have a minimum of three years’ experience as a veterinarian and be happy to work a standard working week of 40 hours.

Our Vets Abroad Program offers flexibility and allows veterinarians to combine locations, to live and work with friends, and to work at the placement which inspires you most.

The support provided includes:

  • A competitive salary and benefits
  • Five weeks’ annual leave
  • Assistance with visa and travel plans
  • Accommodation and relocation support
  • Mobile phone
  • Registration and license fee payments and access to CPD programs

Project Boomerang Program

VetPartners Australia offers our sister company NVA veterinarians the opportunity to work in Australia or New Zealand on a 3-month secondment.

While the secondment can occur at any time throughout the year, the primary idea is to allow our NVA veterinarian family who in winter generally is in a low production season to escape the cold and work in Australia or New Zealand during our summer and high production season.

For further information, please reach out to your NVA Regional Manager or our careers team.
